Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any previous experience to participate in the activities?
The basic answer is NO. Our instructors will gauge the level of difficulty according to age, conditions and fitness. However, please note that our golden rule is 'NO HIGHLAND ADVENTURE INSTRUCTOR WILL HASSLE, BULLY OR CAJOLE YOU INTO PARTICIPATING AGAINST YOUR WILL' Our advice to group leaders is to choose activities that everyone can participate in and develop skills thus ensuring a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
What group sizes do you cater for?
Our minimum group number is 10 and maximum is approximately 50 [residential]
For activities we normally have a ratio of 10 clients to 1 instructor, and we can take up to 50+
Please note that both accommodation and activities have to be pre-booked.
We can take groups for accommodation only from October to end of March and for activities only throughout the year [weather permitting]
For school and youth groups [under 18 years] our policy has always been EXCLUSIVITY. ONLY that group will be on our premises for the duration of their stay, and no one else. Because we are specialists in GROUP BOOKINGS we normally have average sized ADULT GROUPS of 20+. Our policy is not to have more than one group on site at any one time.
What happens during inclement weather?
All groups are advised to bring a waterproof jacket, hood or cap, plus a change of footwear. During spring / summer, rain showers may occur but this does not curtail activities, as most of the activities take place on site, which is well sheltered. Residential groups have the advantage of re-scheduling certain activities if the weather is severe.
Do you take unaccompanied children?
No we do not take unaccompanied children. All under 18ís must have bona fide leaders who are responsible for the youths. behaviour and welfare whilst at Highland Adventure. Youths must be a minimum of 9 years old. ONE Adult leader comes FREE for each group of 10 youths when the group has a full residential and activity programme. For repeat bookings we give an extra FREE place for residential activity groups.

HIGHLAND ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES only offers low to medium risk activities which have full risk assessments and Liability Insurance which are sent out to groups prior to arrival.
